A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE

The band program at Oak Grove High School is a comprehensive music education program through which students grades 6-12 receive instruction in Instrumental Music and Pageantry Performance. The mission of the Oak Grove High School Band Program is to achieve the highest standards of music education and music performance; facilitate the musical enrichment of the student membership; promote the place and value of music in our community and the significant role music plays in the cultural, intellectual, and social lives of young adults; foster fellowship and goodwill among its members; and provide its membership with opportunities for personal growth and leadership. 

Students may join band starting in the 6th grade, while 7th-12th grade students may participate in the Oak Grove High School Marching Band, an award winning marching arts program that performs at all varsity football games and numerous state-wide competitions. Both the intermediate and the concert bands at the high school participate in all Alabama Bandmasters Association adjudicated events and perform seasonal concerts for the community.
